Work with employers and claimants to resolve complex questions; and apply laws, policies, regulations, and procedures applicable to the benefit process. Review documents for completeness, accuracy and compliance. Identify and audit specific issues relative to eligibility. Issue determinations that either allow or deny benefits that involve matters such as quits, discharges, availability, suitability, fraud, earnings and over-payments. Advise claimants of final rights and responsibilities. Utilize multiple systems… such as: UTAB (Unemployment Tax and Benefit), WIT (WorkSource Integrated Technology), NGTS (Next Generation Tax System), ILINX (Proceess-improvement Platform), Five9 (Cloud Contact Center), Microsoft (Sharepoint, Teams, 365 suite).

This social entrepreneurship recognized the importance of access to online tools that work well across multiple platforms for optimizing success in the workforce development process.

A management services company specializing in entrepreneurship and workforce development innovation involving multiple clients and diverse organizations. A primary component of Griffin Group included ten years as part of an ownership team that managed a multi-faceted commercial enterprise. This subsidiary contained wholly owned retail outlets in multiple cities, manufacturing facility, e-commerce websites, direct mail order, catalog solicitation; and a contracted sales force which placed product in hundreds of retail stores world-wide. We manufactured and marketed a variety of hand crafted greeting cards, writing journals, books, calling cards, calendars, motivational goods and original pieces of art.

Responsible for the daily administration of a full-service municipality encompassing nine different Inupiat villages in a geographic region spanning 88,000 square miles. Managed sixteen borough departments and 1,500 employees. Governed an annual operating budget of 175 million dollars and a capital improvements program of 1.6 billion dollars.

Dedicated to the development of economic ventures that advanced the tribal dreams of self-sufficiency and self-governance. Included work with diverse businesses, financial institutions, private investors, and state/federal agencies to secure financing for tribal enterprises via consensus building, business planning, grant writing, survey instruments and broad data analysis.
- -North Slope Borough, Manager of State Governmental Affairs & Special Assistant to the Mayor
Represented the municipality at the state level. Supervised diverse staff which provided a vital link between local and state government. Coordinated grants activities, lobbying and all interaction with elected officials and state agencies. Served as the Mayor’s principal liaison to all borough departments and community stakeholders, coordinated all public relations, drafted the Mayor’s speeches and press releases. Developed and managed the Central Office’s eleven million dollar budget.

Responsible for the passenger sales, cargo functions, accounting, personnel, and public relations of a regional airline hub. Managed staff of fifteen employees with annual operating budget in excess of five million. Operating fleet included 737 aircraft for passenger services and C130 Hercules for freight delivery.
